Main Stats (STR, DEX, INT) are 9 Points per 1% increase.

Accuracy is 10.8 per 1% increase under cap.

*** Due to Accuracy and Main Stats for healers being the same in regards to DPS output, I suspect it is not ideal to sacrifice MND for Accuracy in a 1:1 Ratio. Especially for SCH, since accuracy does not contribute to it's heal/damage strength, Fairy Strength and a significant part of it's damage does not require Accuracy (Bio/BIo2 + Bane)

BRD - SPD UPDATES

Recalculated the effect of SPD on BRD by looking specifically at how it would change it's average Potency/s, since it has no set rotation and due to the Random Proc mechanic of Straighter Shot.

I worked specifically with a 2.25 GCD as this would be your first breaking point for SPD.

Without including your Crit % this gives a 12.5% increase in damage from a 10% increase in GCD

For fun I looked at a 2s GCD which increases your Rotation Potency/s by 26.5% for a 20% increase in attack speed. Not including the effects of Crit.

Also interesting is that SPD increases the Average Potency of the Straighter Shot Proc compared to CRT simply by increasing the frequency of Heavy Shots.

SS Procs
1.2 Chance @ 2.5s GCD
1.4 Chance @ 2.25s GCD
1.6 Chance @ 2s GCD

SS Proc Chance * 140 * Crit Multi

Base CRT Multi - while increasing SS Proc chance (0 SPD, 660 SPD, 1320 SPD)
Base = 13.5 Potency/s
2.25 = 15.8 Potency/s
2 = 18 Potency/s

Base SS Proc (1.2) while increasing CRT (0 CRT, 660 CRT, 1320 CRT)

Base = 13.5 Potency/s
0.60 Multi = 14.9 Potency/s
0.75 Multi = 16.3 Potency/s

But….inversely, by using a SS Proc you reduce the # of SS Procs, because you are not using Heavy Shot, so there comes a point where there is diminishing returns.

I suspect that that sweet spot will be 2.15s GCD, because at this point you are almost guaranteed a SS Proc for each 18s DOT rotation, which lines up with your EA and does not burn up all your TP. Also because it's best to line up your EA with the SS Proc this means you will not be using the SS Proc every time it comes up anyways. Which pretty much limits you to the guaranteed proc every 18s you would get from 2.15s GCD.

I doubt you would want to go lower than a 2s GCD.

My listing of the calculated potential of each of the damage/heal effecting stats.

I felt it was important to make a visual representation for the effect of the secondary stats, due to the nature of the changes in 3.0.

CRIT - Starts out weak but has the highest exponential gains due to an increase in the Crit % and the Crit Multiplier %

Base Crit 5% - Base Multiplier X 0.45 @ a Rate of 42.9 Crit per 1% increase to both Crit % and Crit Multiplier

DET - Starts out strong but only has a linear increase, so it gets overpowered by the other stats.

Linear Rate of 1% every 73 DET

SPD - Starts out strong, has an exponential increase, but does not effect all types of damage.

Exponential Rate of 1% decrease in GCD/Recast every 66 SPD. Now you might ask, "How is that an Exponential Increase?" if it is always a 1% decrease in GCD/Recast.

Base GCD 2.5s = 24 Actions per Minute

Now let's take a 20% reduction in the GCD (+1320 SPD)
2.0s GCD = 30 Actions per Minute or….a 25% increase in Actions per Minute

@ 2.0s GCD 53 SPD is a 1% DPS increase VS 66 @ 2.5s GCD - Therefore each Point of SPD increases the value of all current points of SPD.

A special note about Skill/Spell Speed and DOT's HOTs.

What is significant about this is that not only is Skill/Spell Speed reducing your cast/recast and GCD so you are able to use more of those skills in a given time, it also increases the output from DOTs/HOTs at a slightly higher rate than DET.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

*** Bard deserved it's own listing due to how Crit effects it's Bloodletter mechanic, Straighter Shot and the Straight Shot +10% Crit Buff and how it is altered by the increasing Crit Multiplier. ** Crit is King

Spell/Skill Speed is a bit of a different Animal because point for point it is the strongest stat up to +1300, that is until you factor in a few things:
- % of Damage effected by the stat (Dots, GCD Skills)
- Finite Resources - MP/TP
- Skill Clipping

*** Currently there is an Accepted Bug where pets are not properly scaling off the Spell Speed Stat. It does reduce their Recast, but….they are still waiting till 3 seconds for actions.

*** Machinist Turrets are unaffected by Skill Speed.

So for example, the majority of Melee Classes, between oGCD skills and AA only about 60% of damage is effected by SPD, so it's not that great.

But then you have a class like BLM - Infinite resources, no AA and no oGCD damage skills, which is perfect for stacking tons of Spell Speed

The reason I feel it is significant to have a visual for Secondary Stat scaling is due to the relation the stats have with each other, mainly DET/CRIT. If you look specifically at the +400 section of the graph you will notice that DET is stronger point for point than Crit up until that point, at which they equalize in potential. Now in the second tier of Raids if you came into it with the mentality that DET is better than Crit, you would be gimping yourself by not prioritizing Crit as we reach much higher levels of Secondary stats then we had in First Alexander at which point, due to the Exponential Gains of Crit, it really starts to pull away from DET.

This is also significant for BLM depending on what types of gear they end up with as well, because if you are prioritizing SPD and your DET/CRT levels are hovering around the +400 Mark then you could chose any level of CRT/DET as long as you are getting tons of SPD.

Thoughts on BRD as I find it to be the most interesting Job in Heavenward as far as Secondary Stats go.

Examining Bard in the majority of fights, the % of Damage that is not effected by SPD is only ~10% (Rain of Death (RoD), Bloodletter (BL), Repelling Shot, Blunt Arrow, Sidewinder), due to the fact that Wanderer's Minuet (WM) removes Auto Attacks from the equation and with Random BL/RoD, Procs, it is not efficient to swap out of WM other than for movement, so you can always take AA out of the equation for considering SPD as a Stat.

Skill Speed secretly effects the potency of BL and RoD - Because BL and RoD can proc multiple times between GCD's, every time you are stuck in a cast you are unable to use BL/RoD. So by shortening your Recast with SPD further from the static 3s DOT ticks the more opportunity you will have of not missing those additional procs, which….as you stack more Crit, you will be seeing a lot more of.

The main reasons I find BRD so interesting this expansion as far as Secondary Stats go:
- Skill Speed significantly changes the Ratio of skills that are effected by SPD, so by lowering the 90%-10% Ratio the greater benefit you will see from SPD, which you will need to do when stacking CRT, due to the increased # of RoD/BL Procs
- Skill Speed increases the ratio of Heavy Shots on overall damage, which leads into more Straighter Shot Procs, which if you are stacking Crit means guaranteed Straighter Shot Crits with a much higher Multiplier.
- More Straighter Shot Procs means more opportunity to dual fire with Empyreal Arror - Yes you can shoot Empyreal Arrow off during the GCD of an instant cast Straighter Shot
- More Skill Speed means More Empyreal Arrows per minute (SPD reduces the 15 Recast of EA)
- Crit alters the benefit of the Straight Shot Buff. @ a 0.45 Multiplier, Straight Shot is worth a 4.5% Damage increase. (lower than MCN 5% Hot shot), but as your Crit Multiplier raises, so does your average damage i.e. 0.75 Multiplier = 7.5% Damage Increase.
- Crit significantly increases BRD AOE Damage through RoD Procs.
- SPD eases the effect of Multi-Dotting due to additional cast headroom as well as reduces the level of dot clipping with Iron Jaws (the more you can reduce the 1.5 cast time the tighter you can clip the DOTs.)

Due to the level of Synergy BRD will have between CRT/SPD and how they will both alter the playstyle of BRD and the exponential increase of Damage output BRD will have, I think it will be the most rewarding class to master in HW.

BRD Rotation - The Effects of SPD

Single Target Rotation (2.5s GCD)
SS, WB, VB, EA, HS, HS, HS, HS - Chance of SS Proc 1/5 - EA CD 15s - 4 Heavy Shots per rotation.

2nd Phase of Rotation
SS, IJ, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS - Probability of SS Proc Medium

Single Target Rotation (2.25s GCD)
SS, WB, VB, EA, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS -Chance of SS Proc 1/5 EA CD 13.5s - 5 Heavy Shots per rotation (EA doesn't quite line up for every SS proc but it's better)

2nd Phase of Rotation
SS, IJ, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS (Use EA with any SS Procs) - Probability of SS Proc - High

Single Target Rotaiton (2s GCD)
SS, WB, VB, EA, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS - Chance of SS Proc 1/5 - EA CD 12s - 6 Heavy Shots per rotation.

2nd Phase of Rotation
SS, IJ, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS, HS - Probability of SS Proc Extremely High

So by getting closer to a 2s GCD you are almost guaranteed to get a Straighter Shot proc within the timeframe of the Straight Shot buff + DOT Timers.

This also puts your Empyreal Arrow reset in line with the Straighter Shot proc allowing you to almost always fire it off with the proc which is a huge Potency/s increase. Because not only is it two attacks combined, but it also frees up extra Heavy Shots, which is stronger than a normal Straight Shot, and leads into even more Straighter Shot Procs, which are buffed by….CRIT!!! <3 That Crit Multiplier.

I will see if I can get a grasp on how SPD changes BRD Potency/s on top of creating faster attacks in order to accurately scale the SPD stat for BRD as well.
